Which base should I order?

There are 2 types of bases available. One is the Bayonet Cap fitting and the other is the Edison Screw fitting. Bayonet caps are usually used in UK appliances whereas Edison Screw fittings are used in European and American appliances, such as imported chandeliers, table lamps and so on.

Which size?
Edison Screw and Bayonet Caps come in both small and large types:
E14 (14mm diameter) and E27 (27mm diameter) are Edison Screw
B15 (15mm diameter) and B22 (22mm diameter) are Bayonet Cap
Typical fitments...
Generally speaking, table lamps and ceiling Rose lights will require a B22 large Bayonet fitting. A chandelier, (imported from Europe) with its more delicate structure, would usually need the smaller Edison E14 Screw type.
Screw fittings are also known as ES fittings, which stand for Edison Screw. Edison is the man who invented the screw fitting. Popular in the UK, Bayonet fittings are also known as BC caps.
